This is another in the Pandemic World Basement Tapes series. This one not an original song, but a traditional Scottish/Irish tune called "The Parting Glass." I hesitate to put it up here in the Cabin since it's an a cappella piece without accompaniment. Forgive me. But here it is anyway.

Great job @sleigh . Maggie and I used to do that tune back before the turn of the century when I was spending more time playing the concertina. I seldom get up the courage to sing a capella, but you have a great voice for it. You have a few phrases that were different from our version.
I'm sure you know that this song was the inspiration for Bob Dylan's Restless Farewell from the Free Wheeling LP. I prefer your version.

Jim -- Yeah, I've heard a few alternate lyrics for this. I've forgotten where I found the version I use, honestly—though I believe it was from an Irish version, which may account for the differences between what I sing and what Maggie sang. Either way, it's still a lovely tune!
Actually, it needs a better voice than mine to really do it justice.

I have to admit that I'm not familiar with that Dylan tune, but I can hear how "Parting Glass" influenced it.

That way, I don't have to worry about pitch drift.
