It's almost as if I got a new guitar. But I am jumping ahead of myself.
After a few back and forths with Micheal at Seagull, I resigned myself to not finding a B-Band AC1.5t manual. I was unsuccessful in finding a U1.5t also but I did see pictures of kits, so was confident everything should unplug from preamp unit.
What the smurf am I talking about? Oh? Well, getting rid of the preamp on my Amber Trail MJ and cutting a sound port.
I wanted to remove everything without damaging it of course. There may be some deluded person who would want this unit. 4 Screws to free the unit, but it is on a very short leash!
I now know I could have yanked out the transducer cable, but that wasn't obvious while cover is on. I had to examine th emetal cover on botton to see how t was attached. Those 4 black plastic sploches were confusing.
So two screws on one side and two tabs in slots on other side. I removed screws and started prying it up from screw side. As it lifted I noted it appeared plugged into pcb!
When I finally got cover off I see the black plastic thing is a guide for the transducer plug to pcb connector.
I was unable to unplug the output jack connector. Looks like the pcb has to be taken out of case to do that. So I unscrewed the connector and pulled it through the body. I had a fun time with hand in sound hole unlacing the wired from a glued-down tie wrap on inside of guitar.
So I am going to search for a set of saddle shims before I pull the transducer. I don't want any change in saddle height.
Yes the new guitar bit.. Before when I played guitar, I heard it out there. a few feet in front of me. if you a picture that.
Now, it's under my chin. Nice... immediate...
I plan an oval about 10mm/4" but that might be too long. 8mm might be better, I'll cut out oval templates and see what is what.
BTW: a view of the supposedly maple/maple/maple lamination
