If anyone wants the backstory of this contest cuz they missed it, it's in this thread.
Well, after testing the Taylor 114e and the Seagull Natural Elements CW Mini-Jumbo SG Amber Trail T35 ( whew! That's a mouthful! ) at separate stores, finally they were able to enter the Octagon Cage together today to battle it out.
And what a battle it was! They both started round 1 swinging for the fences! The Taylor came out fleet footed and fast and landed some nice jabs and leg kicks early. The Seagull caught on fast though and started to bob and weave and land counters well. It was a furious back and forth exchange in the 1st round.
Rounds 2 and 3 were more of the same. They were pulling out all the stops. Spinning back fists, uppercuts, jab-cross-hook combinations and footwork that was dizzying to gaze upon! What a herculean effort on both part's behalf!
They took it to the championship rounds! This epic battle was neck in neck. Back and forth they went. I was on the edge of my seat, I couldn't tell who was going to win!
Finally, in the last round, one of them started to fatigue a bit. The footwork was getting a bit flat footed. The jabs were a bit slower and missing more often. The leg kicks were starting to telegraph and were easily avoided and countered. The other was starting to dominate at pushing the pace and was getting the upper hand more consistently.
But still! It was a close fight! No knockouts or submissions here, it had to go to the judges decision. And what a close decision it was! But.....the winner, ....by split decision.........
and now the new owner of the Welterbright Championship Belt IS.................
( drum roll please! )
.......the Seagull Natural Elements CW Mini-Jumbo SG Amber Trail T35!!!
( with a name like that, how could she not become champion?!! )
* and the crowd goes wild! *
** pics to come at a later date. **
