Stew mac charges a fortune for one so I got the Dunlop one Sweetwater sells. It appears it will do the job just fine. I have a difficult time reading the 6" general tools ruler that has 1/64" and 1/32" markings unless I remover my glasses and look a foot away.
I can just use the blocks and covert thousands of an inch to fractions. The one from Sweetwater is around $11 shipped via USPS.
I thought of a related post , the post on Hygrometers and how it's been humid here more than normal.
In the line of thinking how the most damage done to an acoustic is sudden changes whether temps or RH . I said two of mine due to me having two sponges in zips I removed the one in the sound hole because the action raised and leaving just the one at the head stock . I feel it might be best to just humidify the case and that would be a gradual change rather than removing both or doing both less often. Since the are that changed was not the neck. The action raised 1/64" at the 12th tells me the top raised the bridge.
I'm not overly concerned there will be permanent damage , it's not like these small changes never happen they are common . It's when it's done over and over.
Just my thought's not I have the answer, just seems logical based on all the do and don't many here are well aware of.
Why can't they just make 'em to last?
