while doing a search for digital pianos (shush, I said last GUITAR!), I noticed this on BestBuy.ca site, attached to many of the piano listings:

RobertW, Interesting. I've heard of Cosmos a lot. Always meant to go there to check it out but my extreme aversion to going anywhere near or within Toronto, coupled with time restraints has prevented that from happening so far. They're on the "other side" of Toronto relative to where I am.

From what I've heard though, they're like the Wallmart of music stores. They make Long & McQuade look like a "Mom & Pop" store apparently.

Cosmo only has the 1 store, it is a real big-un though.
And their prices are on the high side, rarely find anything used in there either.
Prices tend to be better at the Long & Mcquade chain, and they do have used equipment on the walls.

I discover better things at the smaller Ma&Pa type places like
Pauls Boutique, who unfortunately are right downtown in Toronto's Kensington Market area.
Or The Arts Music Shop in Newmarket On, good shop, nice people, prices a bit high and they do have used gear.
Or the Interesting Music Shoppe in Wilfred On. , great shop terrible non-existent website, strange hours.
Or Precision Music in Bracebridge On. , nice place to stop by, no web site.

Ok, so I admit it I have a disease, I can't pass by a music shop without stopping in.

Yes agree, the GTA is on the insane side, I try to stay out as much as possible.
Sometimes have to head there for the job, fortunately rarely though but the drive takes me right past Cosmo in Richmond Hill
