Hello Everyone,

I found a good deal on Craiglist for an old/used S6 (w/hardshell case) with LR Baggs pre-amp/pickup. I didn't know that the older models used LR Baggs . Does anyone have any experience with the LR Baggs - was it a better system than the more current QI system ? Thanks !

I don't have any experience with LR Baggs, but I believe they are known for quality preamps.

Thanks. It makes sense that the LR Baggs were standard for older Seagulls. I saw one (I forget the model) on Reverb with the LR Baggs as well.

Hijacking a little here but my 98 s6 has a piezo under saddle pickup, of course the jack, it also has a battery. It has no controls and squeals everytime I plug it in. Wondering what it is and does it require a preamp?

Seagulls live 40 + years....so should our guitars

That's strange Ancient1. My 2002 S6+CW has the LRBaggs Duet I-Beam in it, but yours has a under-saddle piezo with NO controls? Weird. It almost sounds like some kind of after-market kit, maybe like the K&Ks.

My 98 S6 does not.
I expect it was added, I bet the preamp was a inline plugin.
