The guitar or the strings. What camp are you in?

My first choice at present is Elixir, but if they don't sound the best on a new guitar, then I am quite prepared to try other makes of Strings untill I find the best. 😀
 And untill you try other strings, you have no comparison to base your choice on. 😁

It's kind of like tires on your truck. There are many makes of trucks and many makes of tires. If you have been happy with a brand of tire, why change. Unless of course if you experience problems, then you look elsewhere.

I'm not a string snob either, but I do know what sounds good to me. Both my gulls (Amber Trails and Coastline 12) sound great with Martin Lifespans lights.

$40 for a set of strings, they would have to be a bit more than special before I try them.
How come Martin are very handy at giving free strings to you guys in the United States, to try out, never heard of any free testers here in the UK.
So think I will return the compliment to Martin.

Not enough options on the survey for me to make a valid choice. I have two favorite strings: D'Addario's EXP 25 (or 16) and Ernie Ball's Aluminum Bronze. They seem to sound equally good on all my guitars, and what I put on a guitar mostly depends on which pack I grab first. Right now, I have more sets of the EB ABs around, so they tend to go on.

I do have some strings I absolutely won't use -- the Elixirs are one, as I dislike the feel of them.

I'm also willing to try new strings just to see how I like 'em. That's how I came across the EB ABs. Would love to try the Titaniums, but I'm not going to pay $40 for acoustic strings. Period. Call me cheap if you like.    So it's entirely possible I'll find new favorite strings in the future.  Hey, I might even try the Elixirs again at some point.

So the above survey doesn't have an option that fits me at all.  Sorry. 

I've never used Cleartone strings. Do you think they are the same as Martin strings?? Martin claims they make their own strings in Mexico using their own coating process.

String snob - MY STRINGS ARE BETTER THAN YOUR STRINGS!!! It applies to anything. You know what they say about opinions...

I have 3 different types of steel strings I am using at this point, no particular favorite yet, that I'm trying. I picked option "B" because I put nylon strings on my classical and steel strings on my regular guitars.
