I got an email via the AGF about the Yamaha group but when I clicked and tried to see the original posting, I got a message from their board saying I wasn't authorized to be in that area. Dunno what that means, but I found the direct link to the new group so I was able to look around.

I can tell that you did a ton of work to make the forum happen. Kudos! As a contemporary Yamaha acoustic guitar enthusiast, and someone who very much enjoys (but does not collect) vintage Yamahas, I am wondering what area can I post in the new forum if I want to discuss my current Yamaha?

NAH!! He's OK. They had a huge mess with the UMGF outage and overflow last year. I guess people where quoting posts from the UMGF in the AFG and restarting the arguments!! So they banned links to other forums. I asked that they consider posts on a case by case basis. He said he'd discuss it with the other mods, but another mod deleted a post to another forum a few days ago. It doesn't sound good.

I said: "As I said, I don't think it's a good idea to post the same information in many forums, important replies may be missed. It's best to put it all in one place. That's why I posted links to my forum as the answer to the questions here. If anyone has a question about what I've written, it should be asked and answered there for others to see. A link to the information on my forum is not much different than a link to information on a web page. The main reason I made a forum vs. a web site is the forum was easier to create, or so I thought. And it allows other people to ask questions or add information. I didn't make it for rambling discussions, only to share what I'm worked on for more than two years. I laid out the structure for the forum a year ago but never finished it, fearing people would take my stuff and claim it to be theirs. When the Yamaha Guitar Archive went down a month ago, that gave me the push to go thru with creating the forum and share information that isn't available anywhere else."

It's part of the setup of the forum. You need to supply a file of a certain size in a certain format and it gets included with the URL.

You need an old Yammie!! I'm very partial to the 000 size ones lately. The dreads are too boomy. The hard part is finding one that doesn't need work. They all do!

I saw one on shopgoodwill last night. Came in a case, not sure if it was a red label. Also saw some models I hadn't seen before, black label N. G.

EDIT: Oops, I realized I did not see the FG-150 on Shopgoodwill.com but instead on a Los Angeles Craigslist ad, with a case, $399. Kinda high for the condition it was in.

I check Shopgoodwill com daily, although I haven't had much time the last 2 days. I picked up another FG-110 from there 2 weeks ago.

There was a FG-150 on there that ended 5/29. A red label, made in Taiwan. It had some drop damage and lots of deep pick scratches.
