This morning I brought my original Seagull S6 to work to compare to the MJM6, somehow in the back seat of my car. And I brought the 25" straight edge and 6" scale, not knowing what year it was made it's probably it has the epoxied neck, but it's possible it doesn't since it came out in 2005, I just don't know when they stopped making this model, still waiting for an email back from Michel at Godin. The only thing I forgot was a pick!!!!! I'm a little nervous. I have to do this quickly. If she wan't to get it over with I may have to skip the evaluation and just do it. We have a mandatory meeting that will last until 4pm, when I was going to meet her, I need to blow out of here as soon as it's over. I need to meet, evaluate and get back to work in 30 minutes, it's a 10 minute ride each way to where we are meeting. Then call the wife when I get back to work to tell her I'm leaving. I don't like being sneaky, it's not something I do. Had to put lots of thought into this. Do I really want to go thru with it? It's an interesting opportunity, a rare model, I can't find much online about it, no reviews, it may have only been sold for a few years and discontinued because of poor sales.
This is the only archived page I've found that has an original selling price. web.archive.org/web/20060618155759/http://www.zzounds.com/item--SEAMJM6CWQII It was a package, $695 with the TRIC case. Wow, this could be interesting, but I'm afraid I might not like the sound. Last Spring I checked out an older Artist Cameo (maple back & sides), in his living room. I wasn't sure if I liked the sound, it was lacking bass and a little bright (maple). He had an S6 there also. When I compared the 2 it was obvious I didn't want the Cameo. It think he wanted $225. I waited a couple of days and was going to offer $150. When I check the ad was deleted.
If I get it I'm going to bring it back to work and leave it here until tomorrow. After work today I'll be picking up the wife to vote, I wouldn't want to be in the position of leaving it in the car over night, it's going down to 44. Tomorrow she's taking her Mother to a doctor's appointment, I'll be home before her.
2 reasons I want this day over!!!!!! This guitar and the election!!!!
